She earned her Master’s degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where she also completed an Advanced Certificate in Transnational Organized Crime. Her academic journey began at Linnaeus University in Sweden, where she pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Internationalization. During her time there, she served as a member of the student board, earning the position of sponsor and communication manager, roles that underscored her leadership and organizational skills. Emma’s academic pursuits were further enriched by her studies at the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania, where she focused on political science, constitutional law, and communication, complementing her passion for justice with creative approaches to advocacy.
Emma’s commitment to justice is exemplified by her work on the documentary Every Day is a Tuesday, produced in association with the FealGood Foundation while she was a student at the University of Scranton. The documentary shed light on the injustices faced by 9/11 responders who developed life-altering illnesses as a result of their efforts at Ground Zero. This project highlighted Emma’s ability to blend academic insight with real-world advocacy, as she also supported the 9/11 community during the COVID-19 pandemic by advocating for vaccine accessibility for this vulnerable population. Emma’s graduate studies at John Jay College further refined her expertise in transnational and organized crime, cybercriminology, terrorism, economic justice, and international criminal law. In June 2023, Emma’s academic journey reached new heights when she participated in an independent study at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
